Engineers research, design, build and maintain the man-made, physical, world around us. From our roads, bridges, cars and buildings to ships, planes and explosives, engineering puts the theories of science and technology into practice. It encompasses the entire process, from researching and drawing up designs to producing and maintaining the finished product.

Engineers can be found in a huge variety of organisations, from large construction and manufacturing companies to small consultancies specialising in areas such as agriculture or software. As such, the engineering sector presents lots of career options for graduates with an interest in science, technology and construction.
